Fame and Prestige

To refocus you all on the grand nature of this campaign I am updating you all on your position within the pathfinder society!

I am going to give the party a total Fame score of 10 and each have total of 20 prestige points to spend as you see fit. For a great explanation of fame and prestige, as well as a list of things you can do with your Prestige Points (or PP) follow this link!

Vote Forghul for Glutton!

This is OOC, but I can’t post in the forum tab on this campaign:

This is my argument why Forghul should have the shard of gluttony. First of all, this is what it does:
+2 vs Necromancy insight bonus
Vampiric Touch once per day
+1hp per hit die
Pink Rhomboid (Ioun Stone) +2 Con

Fluff reasons: My character is the epitome of gluttonous; he is obese and power hungry, he intentionally bloats himself with all the blood his body can produce, and he consumes other’s to replenish his strength.

My bloodline is Undead, and I’ve taken 2 feats based on the Necromancy school, so I don’t understand why in game, my character wouldn’t be allowed this item, when he’s the one who best understands it and can use it.

Rules Wise: The biggest reason to NOT let me have it is because I won’t benefit from the ion stone’s +2 Con. So for another character, this gives them +1 Fort, and +1 HP per hit die, which right now is 8.

However, I feel these reasons why I should get it out way that:

Vampiric Touch, it’s per/day ability is a spell that is already a part of my character’s strategy, and my other spells/feats/items are designed to compliment it.

I still receive the +1 HP per hit die. While this will be one half of what a living character receives from the shard because of the ion stone of +2 Con, HP is my character’s only defense. I don’t have well balanced saves, I don’t have high AC, or damage reduction. I have spells and HP, that’s it. So I’d argue that the ½ HP is more valuable for my character than the full hp is for anyone else in our group besides maybe Tiefling, because he’s always dying. Straight HP is also one of the few ways I can get more! Any of you can simply buy a belt of +Con for hp, I can’t do that. Also keep in mind that HP is important to me because A) I’m the hardest in our group to heal, basically have to do it myself, so I need to make sure I have enough to live through and B) if I drop to 0, I’m instantly destroyed

+2 vs Necromancy: Sure, I’m immune to the spells in necromancy that require a Fort save, but I’m not immune to the spells that specifically target Undead, like you guys are. Command Undead isn’t that far away, and they already have access to other almost as powerful anti-undead spells. The campaign just turned us undead, do you really think the next book isn’t going to have answers for that? Also… I’m spell focus necromancy, it’s so thematic! – but that’s back to the fluff thing.

So all those reasons are why I think Forghul is the best candidate for the item both flavor and rules wise. It seems so obvious to me. If its such a big deal that the +2 con is wasted, then take out the stone and just give me the raw shard. I’ll be gluttonous, that’s fine… because its already a part of my character, that’s how well this shard fits him.

The Lady's Light

Varisia’s newest heroes have stumbled across a powerful relic from the ancient empire of Thassilon – yet the artifact has been sundered into seven fragments. The third of these fragments lies in the swampy Mushfens south of the city of Magnimar, hidden within an ancient, towering lighthouse known as the Lady’s Light. With squabbling boggards, troglodytes, and other swamp monsters dwelling around the ruins, approaching the Light will require either stealth or bravado. But the threats posed by slimy and scaly humanoids pale in comparison to the exiled Grey Maidens who have claimed the interior of the Light as their new headquarters, or to the sinister curse that afflicts the powerful, ancient caretaker of the ruins.

The Crow Mapped

The Crow

We embarked in a Pathfinder sailboat to reach the Crow. At arrival we found 3 other sailboats docked and the place smelling of bat guano. Climbing 4 flights of stairs we found little of interest but scurrying giant rats and Thassilon text caved into the walls.

We fought our way through the Tower Girls who were led by Wererats. We found our progress slow going through the thick hides of the beasts. So we sailed back to town to reequip ourselves with Silver weapons to better fight the beasts.

Fighting through the girls we found their leader musing on a Thassilon runed puzzle door. We killed her, found her journal and Traven easily solved the doors puzzle.

Next we go onward to the unknown!

The Pathfinders Set Out

In the company of Fizzwright the armored gnome, wary Traven, Firelda the blaze and my good friend Lemon the brash, we waited eagerly to meet with Sheila Heidmarch. Upon arrival we found her prior meeting still taking place and she asked us to solve a Thassilon puzzle which Corah Azmorren (Sheilas halfling company) had retrieved. Lemon effortlessly disarmed the hidden trap in the box and opened it to find it empty.

Sheila told us she called the meeting to have us retrieve a missing colleague and artifact. Natalia Van Caskerskin had gone missing while undercover as a Tower Girl.

Natalias ‘in’ to the Tower Girls group and the Sczarni was a would be fortune teller who goes by ‘The Amazing Zorgarthi.’ We found him in the slums and paid him a few petty coins to tell us the tower girls had been living under the bridge in the Bad slums.

Hearing rumors of other missing around the city and Nidalease slavers about town we made that our second course of action. It was a hoax though and we put the perpetrator robber to the guards.

In the slums, the Tower Girls old ‘landlord’ Fenster the Blight gave us directions to the last known location of Natalia. The place was guarded by charmed men and sewer goblins who flung bags of filth at us… Upon finally reaching Natalia we found her quite mad with a lust for control over others. We coaxed her under the guise of being her subordinates to come back to the Pathfinder lodge but were set upon by a different Tower Girl named Terisha Skillion. We bested her and led the crazed Natalia back to Sheila.

Sheila somehow got Natalia to let go of her prized possession (it seemed to be a glass dagger of some sort) and put an Ion stone into it canceling out the crazed state Natalia had been in.

Natalia told us she found the relic inside a pillar known as The Crow and it was in fact a very powerful and rare Thassilon Artifact and just one piece of the Shattered Star.

And so our journey took us to the Crow.

Each one of you aspiring adventurers has received a copy of the following letter. It comes with the return address marked Heidmarch Manor, Magnimar’s first and only pathfinder lodge. It reads:

Greetings fellow seeker of adventure!

I am Sheila Heidmarch, Venture Captain of the newest Pathfinder Society lodge – and the only such lodge in Varisia at this time. You have come to my attention as someone who possesses a certain amount of skills and interests that make you an excellent to a highly specialized team I’m putting together for a matter of grave import, not only to the Society but to Varisia as a whole. Please report to Heidmarch Manor – you will be compensated for your visit, but that reward will pale in light of the riches that await you should we come to an agreement on my proposition to you I look forward to meeting you soon!
