Shard of Pride
Aura overwhelming illusion; CL 25th Slot none Weight 1 lb.
The Shard of Pride is made of coppery horacalcum. As long as the Shard of Pride is carried, it’s owner can use major image as a spell-like ability once per day, gains a +2 insight bonus on saves versus illusion spells, and gains a +2 insight bonus on all skill checks.
The owner suffers delusions of grandeur, and is sickened whenever he must serve another creature as a subordinate of any sort for as long as that arrangement persists. He cannot gain the benefit of the aid another action, nor can she take the aid another action.
It is a piece of an ancient artifact Thassilon artifact, from the Age of Legend, known as the Sihedron. The founder of the Nation of Thassilon was a powerful Azlanti wizard named Xin. He crafted the Sihedron after extensive research and through a combination of all seven schools of magic. Even though the Sihedron greatly amplified his power it was not enough to protect him when his subordinates – the self-appointed runelords – betrayed The First King of Thassilon. The seven pointed Sihedron was shattered and Xin killed. The full story is shrouded in mystery but for thousands of years the shards were thought to be myth until this – the Shard of Pride – was found by a woman, hidden in the City of Monuments.
